We had a few warm days so we spent more time outdoors. To celebrate the weather we were inspired to change Cyrus’ clothes.
Boids
The boids haz been active. Our feeders are still dominated by the juvenile English starlings, but they leave the Oriole feeder alone. However they have found the suet feeder in the yard and even though it is hung upside down, they are still managing to empty as soon as I refill it.
We have been seeing the crows but for the first time they came up to the deck and took a little Jelly.
Kayak Adventure 2021-03
For s starter, we are not the craziest people out there, at least we don’t kayak in the rain.
But we did go kayaking on an outgoing tide. We were about an hour after high tide but we wanted to get out there. We headed to Shackford Point again and all we saw were Osprey and Herons.
The pictures are the best quality but you can see the Osprey are very successful fishing the bay.
The Osprey aren’t the only ones successfully fishing the bay, the herons seem to be doing quite well also. There was a heron near the dock fishing the mouth of the salt pond for eels. We came back at the same tide for two days to watch this fellow.
On the second day I loaded up with a tripod and lawn chairs but the herons weren’t feeding when we were there. At least it was a pleasant walk.
Mammals – Babies Galore
I guess to our neighbors dismay, we will be exporting baby woodchucks this year.

Spring is a pretty amazing time to live in our home on the bay. We are enjoying things opening up around us and we are busy planning for the future. We plan some local travelling adventures this summer.

Nice coconuts on Cyrus, and I also like the heron close-ups — enjoy the warmer weather!
