Valentines Day is a very important holiday around here as it is an excuse to doll up Cybil and prepare a feast for the family. The weather has been typical February around here, we get hints of spring and then get slammed with more winter. The critters and birds definitely think spring is a possibility.

We did a lot of brush cutting over the past two years and some landscaping by wind, losing a pine and a pear tree. We planned to burn the brush last winter but never had the right weather for it. To burn brush in Newmarket during the day, it is required to have snow cover.

It has truly been winter around here and goings on in the yard have been controlled by the weather. We had another Bomb Cyclone, Nor’easter followed by extreme cold followed by another snowstorm and then alternating freezing and thawing. This is the type of winter weather that tends to keep one trapped indoors and isolated.

I feel like I am spamming you. Taking the pictures I aspire to require specific weather conditions. We had good picture taking weather and I am burdened with over four hundred pictures which is more than enough for another blog. Our workhorse cameras are Nikon super zoom point and shoot cameras. We acquired our first,

I didn’t intend to blog this soon but have enough stuff for a blog and so here we go. Our snow is basically gone, but before it went we had some really cold and windy days and nights. Benji is not a fan of the cold, For awhile he refused to go out and poop.

I really enjoyed doing the most recent blog of the birds at Meg’s house. So we had a really cold night followed by a sunny morning and I hoped to repeat the experience. I was fairly happy with the pictures I was getting. So we picked up breakfast at The Big Bean and bopped on

We did our usual breakfast at Meg’s by picking up Bagel sandwiches at Browns and going to Meg’s house. Today was speshul because there was fresh snow, 12 degree temperatures over night and bright sunlight. This resulted in a lot of bird activity in good light for taking pictures. I can’t decided which is my

The most notable thing about early January 2022 was the weather, first there was freezing rain and before we could fully clean up from it we got seven plus inches of light snow. One interesting thing about the ice storm is that the ice melt from the roof created an interesting ice sculpture, you can

We are mostly agreed that 2021 was just another 2020 but I feel we need to document it’s passing. We did have a white Solstice: Saint Nickolas has been responsible for delivering Solstice gifts for quite awhile. I cannot complain as I had the best Solstice EVAH. You can tell how much I am appreciated

I thought I was going to do only two December blogs but somehow I ended up with 82 pictures before Christmas. So I guess I will do a follow on Holiday blog. We did end up with a white Solstice. We have consistently been on the rain/snew line resulting a heavy wet snew. We have
