It is already the end of March and I haven’t blogged yet for March and still have February content to share. I suppose it is a form of writer’s block. I don’t want to do the March postings until I have completed the February but don’t seem to find the motivation to get it done.

Just before Valentines Day we got some rain. The deer and turkeys have been quite active. The neighbors have seen as many as twenty deer at a time. We have not seen more than twelve to fourteen deer at a time. The deer seem healthy in spite of the pressure. However they are eating plants

We finally got some snow near the middle of February. It was wet heavy sloppy stuff. We started with five to eight inches of light snow and switched over to wintry mix and rain that turned it into heavy mush. That is no fun to get off the driveway, walks and deck as it tends

January slipped by with just three storms. It is early February and we are getting even more rain. We have been seeing lots of turkeys and deer. We have even seen the turkeys and deer at the same time. Their interaction was interesting to say the least. The deer are hungry and have even been

The third winter storm doesn’t seem like much on the face of it. We got four or five inches of snow over night followed by a dusting to three inches the next night. But the real thrust of the storm is the polar vortex and the extreme cold. Our cold is moderated a little by

Nuttin continues to happen in NewMahket. We had our first storm of 2019 and it was a snow/ice storm followed by extreme cold. Todays high was a balmy five degree Fahrenheit. The roads are ice covered but we did not lose power. The next storm is in two days but it is projected to be

I have not been very good about maintaining my website and continue to fall behind in my posting. I have no excuse. But we are here in NewMahket where ‘nuttin continues to happen.’ I have about a hundred and fifty pictures to parse. We are on the cusp of our first winter storm of 2019

December almost got away from me. It is the end of December and I have yet to blog. Of course nuttin eveh happens in NewMahket, but you guys seem to like to keep up to date on nuttin. Our critters are doing well. We had snow early in December but it didn’t stick around for

We spent two days on Rapa Nui (Easter Island). We were part of a bird watching club on the Maasdam which was chaired by the on-board Naturalist, Martin Cohen. We went to lectures by the naturalist and marine biologist prior to arrival on the island. Afterward the group would gather and share their photographs and
