Valentines Day is a very important holiday around here as it is an excuse to doll up Cybil and prepare a feast for the family. We did a lot of brush cutting over the past two years and some landscaping by wind, losing a pine and a pear tree. We planned to burn the brush last winter but never had the right weather for it. To burn brush in Newmarket during the day, it is required to have snow cover.

It has truly been winter around here and goings on in the yard have been controlled by the weather. We had another Bomb Cyclone, Nor’easter followed by extreme cold followed by another snowstorm and then alternating freezing and thawing. This is the type of winter weather that tends to keep one trapped indoors and isolated.
