Cinco de Mayo

April finally came to an end and it was wet, cold and unpleasant. During the drear last days of April and early May, we made use of the fireplace and just hunkered dfown.

Cinco de Mayo was the first pleasant day in about two weeks and the whole community took advantage of it.

I brought a bottle of tequila to share and it was emptied by the end of the night.

Kayak Adventure 2023-01

We got the kayaks out and went fishing. I hooked four fish and landed two in two and one half hours. On my first cast I hooked a chain pickerel but it shook off before I got it in the boat. I landed a panfish and a one pound bass. Because we were focused on fishing, I didn’t bring the big camera. The fishing was poor and the wildlife abundant. However, I failed to take any pictures. I will try to do better next time, hopefully soon.

Now that we have warmer and dryer weather, we have been getting out and working on the gardens. We weeded the front garden and the lower blueberry garden so far. There is still plenty to do. We plan to work on it a little at a time and get out and about more.
