Mid-December 2022

It seems winter has arrived. We had two snow events and currently have snow on the ground. It has been cold here and we are expecting the Bomb Cyclone storm to arrive tonight. The storm is expected to be rain when it gets here, so we are not expecting a white Christmas.

Meg and Andrew each have their wood stoves working and are keeping warm.

Mark’s Folly has been winterized. We have added two bubblers and a heater to help the fish survive until spring.

BOIDS

The birds have been very active in our yard. It is delightful to watch.

Coopers Hawk

The crows are regularly coming to the feeders.

Two male turkeys have been hanging about the yard as well.

We are feeding the bluebirds mealworms.

MAMMALS

The deer have been cleaning up under the bird feeders for us.

Fun with Baya

The big news this cycle is that Meg adopted an eleven year old miniature Schnauzer from a pet rescue. I would like to introduce Baya:

We are working to acquaint Baya with Benji and Andrew’s cats. So far she is getting along quite well and adapting to her new home.
