Ever felt you were waking up to a nightmare? Imagine being cooped up in a house with just your family for a whole year due to a global pandemic. Well, I had that nightmare. Even if you normally get along pretty well, after a year of self isolation some tensions can arise. Something as simple as making cookies fer yourself can result in conflict.
I even had the attack parrot guard Mark’s cookies.
It was to no avail.
We had another Nor’easter which dumped eleven inches of snow on us. It was blowing and drifting, so some areas had a lot of snow and windswept areas were only a few inches deep. The snow exacerbated another ongoing conflict: the SQRLS stealing Mark’s bird food.
When times get tough, it seems like the sensible thing to do is take some time out for comfort food. This whole year we have been striving to maintain some sense of normalcy by having mini BYOB every Friday night. This week it was pizza night.
BOIDS
The birds keep an eye out on the feeders looking for an opportunity to feed..
Red Breasted Nuthatch Chickadee Chickadee Titmouse Titmouse Titmouse Junko Sparrow Mourning Dove Junko
The snow has melted and refrozen enough times so that the turkeys are mobile again. It has formed a crust that they can walk on.
Then there is this guy keeping an eye out for lunch.
Fun with Food
We have been mostly eating our own cooking. It can be a struggle to keep it fresh.

Cyrus decided to get dressed up for Valentines Day.
We will be self isolating for the next three weeks. After that we hope to begin the transition to a more pre COVID lifestyle. I hope this blog finds you in good health and that you manage to stay safe and healthy.

Great job as usual Mark. Once again you’ve made my (and I’ll bet lots of other people’s) day.

Damn that’s some yummy looking food.
Thank you for feeding and entertaining the squirrels….I think this is what is keeping them OFF of our birdfeeders!!!!
Love your blogs. It was -14 degrees here this AM and no real relief in sight for 10 days.
Great bird photos!
