Fall Kayaking

We went kayaking yesterday. It was a little past peak colors. The weather was pleasant at about sixty degrees, partly to mostly cloudy with a ten mile per hour wing gusting to fifteen. It was warm enough in the sun but a little cool in the shade and wind. We went on the Lamprey River above the dam from the boat ramp on the Piscassic River up to Packer’s Falls. It was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

We saw a pileated woodpecker, song birds, ducks and a late season turtle. I got a lousy picture of the woodpecker.

You can just see it’s head in the upper left hand corner

We got off the water about an hour before sunset. It had started to cool down.

Beautiful!! A great reminder of when I spent hours out on the Lamprey in my little rowboat we kept tied up to a tree down at the cemetery. Thanks for sharing!
