Spring just keeps trying here in NewMahket. Winter refuses to give up. First we got rain that soaked the yard.
The rain was followed by a heavy wet snow and cold.
The good thing about Spring is that the snow doesn’t last very long.
BOIDS
We have a second species of crow that has been coming to our feeders, a fish crow. Visually it is difficult to tell them apart from an American Crow. The fish crow is slightly smaller and has a shorter beak. The way we tell them about is that it has a distinctly different call.
After ten years, I finally got a picture of a pileated woodpecker.

The birds think it’s spring. We see them pairing up, hear their spring songs, and watch them fighting over territory. Soon it will be time to do yard clean up and feed the fish in the pond!
