We wanted to go deep sea fishing on the Headhunter with Captain Bob Miller. The only available date was the day after we arrived. And worser, it was an early tide so we needed to leave the dock at five AM. This meant we had to get up at four and leave the airbnb at four thirty, We passed around a tummy bug just before we left for vacation and Andrew wasn’t feeling well, so he missed the deep sea fishing. We invited a work friend of Mark’s to join us, Jim Moore. He has fished with us in the past.
So the crew was Mae, Meg, Jim and Mark. We managed to get up and get to the harbor on time. We loaded up at twilight and were off.
Well the sun did come up on our way. We fished just off Monomoy Island,, so it wasn’t a long ride to our fishing location.
It was a beautiful sunrise and it wasn’t long until we were on some fish.
The birds were incredible. They were working over the baitfish in the tidal rip currents. They even attacked our lures.
Meg caught the biggest fish.
We were allowed to keep one striper per person that was between 28 and 36 inches. We kept the fish that were around 35 inches long. The captain cleaned the fish during the slack tide.
After the tide turned, Jim and Mark kept fishing to try to beat Meg’s fish. The ladies were tuckered out from the early wake up call.
It turns out it was a good choice to fish the early tide. The fishing was excellent and the scenery sublime.

Wow!!! What a trip!!! Great fishing pics! But my favorite is of my two nieces snoozing while Mark and Jim try in vain to beat Meg’s blue ribbon 39incher.
