This blog will also deviate from the usual format because we spent five days travelling to Cincinnati to visit my brother and his family. This involved our first trip on an airplane since the pandemic hit.
Before we left, we went to The Stone Church to catch some Irish music during St. Paddy’s Week.
BOIDS
We weren’t around enough to get our usual documentation of events in the yard, but here is a sampling.

Fun with Food
We had dinner at Thai Basil and I am really fond of their food.
We do occasionally cook for ourselves.
Then we ended up with what to do with the leftover pizza makings? Calzones!
Vacation with The Cincinnati Moellers
Susan noticed that the Red Hot Chili Pipers were coming to a club in downtown Cincinnati and mentioned it to Wink. Wink thought that would be a lot of fun and so we decided to go. It was our first airplane flights since the pandemic started. Masks were required on the bus, in the airports and on the planes.
Rodney was the grill meister and Susan ran the kitchen. Our first night there we had grilled lamb. I must have been tired after all the travelling because I only took one picture.
We went out for lunch.
Then we went to the Krohn Conservatory to see the arboretum and the butterflies. Apparently some people are sweeter than others.
The next day was the concert and we got dinner across the street from the venue.
The Red Hot Chili Pipers were a hoot and it was worth going to see them.
The next day after we dragged ourselves out of bed for a day of exploring Cincinnati: lunch, and shopping.
What an amazing market! I hear it gets slammed on the weekend but we were there on Friday and it was busy but not too busy. So we planned two grilling meals, steak and shrimp and a seafood extravaganza. It was a blast shopping. It sort of reminded me of Pikes Market in Seattle.
Rod and Susan prepared gourmet meals for us. It was nice to chill at their house and get absolutely fabulous food.
We dragged ourselves out of bed the next morning.
After lunch the guys went on a Cincinnati Beer Tour while the ladies enjoyed the art museum and Rookwood pottery shop. The beer tour was mostly outdoors and I was not dressed for the cold windy weather plus totally failed to document the excursion. We did go into some lager tunnels and ended up at a brewery, so all was not lost.
Then we did the seafood extravaganza for dinner. The seafood consisted of scallops, swordfish, mahi mahi and halibut and some chicken for Wink.
It was a lot of fun creating extravagant meals at home, but was a lot of work for our gracious hosts.
Fun with Benji
Well March came in like a Lion and as far as I can tell, it intends to go out as a Lion.
However we have greened up considerably over the month of March and are looking forward to April.
