Early March 2022

I have had the pictures uploaded for a couple of days but just haven’t had time to sit down and craft a story.

Winter has not given up on us yet. We have been alternating rain and snow with some bitter cold wind thrown into the mix. The Bay ice is largely gone but the rivers and ponds are still ice bound.

BOIDS

The eagles are back on the point.

The crows come at feeding time but still have a lot of competition for the crow food.

Riding the Tide

Thomas is back and staking his claim.

Mammals

The turkeys called in reinforcements to contest the feeder but in the end the deer took over.

Fun with Food

It is important to honor the traditions of a culturally diverse community. So we celebrated FAT TUESDAY with Paczkis. It was a tradition we picked up in Detroit. I was surprised how few people around here were aware of this tradition.

Fun with Benji

We are really looking forward to spring.

  1. Where’d you get the Paczkis? Polish donuts? I’ll have to ask the post docs who work for my friend David – many from Poland.
