Valentines Day is a very important holiday around here as it is an excuse to doll up Cybil and prepare a feast for the family.
The weather has been typical February around here, we get hints of spring and then get slammed with more winter. The critters and birds definitely think spring is a possibility.
BOIDS
The eagles don’t usually hang around when the bay is iced over, but I guess there is enough open water that they can still fish. We saw a pair fly over and saw this one eating on the bay.
I guess bird feeders attract all kinds of birds.
We enjoy watching the birds and have fun snapping a few pictures.
Here is a gallery of bird pictures for your viewing enjoyment. I am including these pictures so you can examine them in detail.
Mammals
The deer are having a hard time. They are still browsing the shells under the bird feeders and eating the shoots off the plants in our gardens.
The SQRLS eat the buds off the trees and try to get at our bird feeders. They have found the bungee feeder as well.
And then there is this recent addition to our yard.
Fun with Food
This seems to be a popular segment of the blog. Cooking can be a creative endeavor, especially during the dark days of winter.
First we celebrated Meg’s birthday.
Breakfast can be fun as well.
We got Mexican Food recently at La Catrina
We also went to Warren’s in Kittery Maine for a Sunday Lunch……….
Finally there was the Valentines Day celebration.
Fun with Benji
I heard a rumor that it was possible to take too many pictures of Benji. That is really demented, who could suggest such a thing?
We are looking forward to spring and getting out of the house more.
