We got our taxes done enough to file. I guess even that little bit is an accomplishment. We didn’t manage to properly winterize the yard and then when spring came around it was difficult to catch up. We were making progress but too slowly. So we finally decided to get some help and get caught up on yard work.

Just to keep us on our toes we added five apple trees to Mark’s farm. They are two Courtland, one Royal Gala and two Honey Crisp. In a couple years we may be able to harvest some fruit from them.

Honestly, it is a big relief to get caught up on the yard work. This will let us enjoy the summer and help reduce our stress.
BOIDS
I didn’t take a lot of local pictures for this blog but we did get out birding twice.
Kayak Adventure 2021-01
We got out in the kayaks mid-dayish and headed to Shackford Point. There was very little bird activity and I didn’t bother to take the camera out of the dry bag. So we headed over to the Osprey Nest that I have been tracking in this blog. I took a few pictures of the Osprey.
Bellamy River Wildlife Sanctuary
Wink got the book, Birdwatching in New Hampshire by Eric A. Masterson and Bellamy River was one of the local areas suggested. We hiked four and a half miles mid morning. Unfortunately it was an outgoing tide and quite low so the birds were a fair distance from where we could observe them.

There are two trail heads so we decided to check them both out.

Blackbirds chasing a hawk put on a show for us.
Wink and I both had the same thought, the birds we were able to observe are the same ones we see from the Living Room windows at home.

This was chocolate chip cookie week. Who makes better cookies, Mark or Meg? Fortunately the trials were not conclusive and we will be forced to do more experiments.
Fun with Benji
Benji got groomed this week.

It is good to be coming out from the COVID restrictions. We are still observing COVID protocols consistent with being fully vaccinated. We are making travel plans for the summer and next year. We are getting out more and socializing. All this has really helped improve the morale on the home front.
Stay safe, Stay Healthy.

yep, both Muk and Benji have the same hairy face…
I like the three trellises on the side of the house. What’s growing on them?
