This was the month of the ‘Orange Moon’. We got out to enjoy the view when wed took Benji for his bedtime walk.
We are getting out of the house more. We even had a small party with six vaccinated people total. I hope we are done with April’s weather surprises. So without further ado………….
BOIDS
It is nice to wake up to a little bird song in the morning and so for a scene right out of the movie “The Birds.”
A neighbor saw and Orchard Oreo and so we quickly changed up our winter feeders top accommodate an Oreo feeder.
The Oriole isn’t the only new arrival, I think we are starting to see the Yellow Legs migrating through.
Lubberland Creek Walk
We took some time out to go visit the heron rookery on the Sweet Trail in Newmarket. Unfortunately it was a very blustery day and we didn’t see much in the way of bird life.
We didn’t make it all the way to the heron rookery. While we were resting a tree blew down near us and we decided to retire for the day and try again on a calmer day.

Party – Party – Party
We had really gotten out of practice for hosting people at our house. We invited four people over for dinner. One guest remarked that the meal was memorable. So if we invited you over for dinner and you are not up for memorable, run the other way.
Why cowboy steaks? I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time. I had never grilled them and it was an adventure.
On the Barbie Plattered Slicing Slerved Yum
It was a very pleasant evening. We will likely continue to have small dinner parties with people who have their vaccine passports. It had been over a year since we have hosted a dinner. Maybe in the fall we will be back to hosting indoor BYOBs again.

Fun with Dryer
The dryer broked and repairmen are booking three weeks out. How hard could it be? So I found a video on Youtube and ordered the parts. It looked really easy.
Here is the problem, the druer got a large electrical surge and burned the heating coil.
I got it apart Okay but needed an extra pair of hands to get it back together. Fortunately Andrew was around to help me and we got it put back together with no left over parts. It is even working now.
We are trying to comply with the COVID protocols will at the same time trying to lead a more normal life. We continue to muddle along.
Stay Safe, Stay Healthy,
Mark, Wink and Meg
You make some very good looking food.
Very impressed that you fixed the dryer!!!!! You aren’t an engineer for nothing. 🤪
