Cookie Birds IV

NewMahket, where “nuttin evah happens” and there is “nuttin to do.” There was no way that I was planning to do another cookie bird blog, I felt I beat that one into submission. But circumstances dictated otherwise.

One of the hen turkeys took a dust bath just behind the garage.

The bird channel remains active. I planned to get pictures of the birds I missed in the previous cookie bird blogs. I got a few but did not complete my list yet.

Hairy Woodpecker
Swan

We still have our usual cast of characters hanging out:

Male Red Winged Blackbird
Female Red Winged Blackbird
Juvenile Male Red Winged Blackbird
Mourning Dove
Male Orchard Oriole
Female Orchard Oriole
Female Cardinal
Rose Breasted Grosbeak
Goldfinch
Ruby Throated Hummingbird

The mammals remain active as well.

Chipmunk
Squirrel
Fox

Unfortunately that isn’t all the news regarding mammals visiting us. We woke up to this this morning:

Flattened Bird Feeders

Something large destroyed our bird feeders.

Bent them over just like twigs
Also has large sharp teeth.

There had been bear activity observed in the neighborhood bordering Moody Point. The evidence strongly suggests that the bears finally found us. We don’t intend to feed the bears regularly, so we will have to adapt to the current situation.

We continue to try to maintain a sense of normalacy in the household.

Barbeque Chicken Pizza

We started with a Newmans Own Four Cheese frozen pizza and added chicken and sweet baby rays spicy sauce as well as peppers and onions. It was a success.

More Home Made Ba Bim Bab
Home made dumplings for Mini BYOB
Sunday Morning is pancake day
Steak and Chook on the barbie

So you can see we are shuffling along.

One of the Moody Point activities I miss was our yearly bird walk. Links below:

2019 Moody Point Bird Walk

I was wondering if we could do a bird walk this year and collect the pictures afterwards. I think we usually see about twenty species of birds on the walks. There are many more species than that around. I would like to see a 2020 Moody Point Bird in some form.

You tell from this blog, it is ruff to self isolate in NewMahket where “nuttin evah happens” and there is “nuttin to do.”

  1. Thanks, but I would be concerned about the aliens messing with the bird feeders.
