Cookie Birds

News Flash!! We saw our first OREO, albeit an Orchard OREO. But it is a clear sign of spring. Wink also saw her first hummingbird, but I didn’t get a picture of it. We immediately got the summer feeders out and an Orchard OREO male came to the feeder. The Baltimore Orioles won’t be far behind.

Orchard Oriole

This is important enough news that I wanted to get a blog off today.

We also saw the female feeding in the bush.

There are other signs of Springs arrival here as well.

Double Blood Root Blossom

We have been seeing the usual cast of characters as well.

Ground Hog
Mourning Dove
Turkey Hen
Bald Eagle

As you can see, it continues to be ruff in ‘NewMaket where nuttin evah happens’ and there is ‘nuttin to do.’

We have been keeping ourselves busy by cooking up a storm.

Mini BYOB Friday Night
Stir Fry
Fritatta
Buckwheat Pancakes

So you can tell it is really ruff here.
